BearSaver Introduces New Dog Waste Receptacle

Posted by David Moore on

Americans love their pets, especially their canine companions. Dogs provide great companionship to their owners; experts estimate that there are around 83 million pet dogs bringing joy to their owners. With that many dogs roaming around, there is clearly going to become an issue with dog waste. In fact, it is estimated that these pets produce around 10.6 million tons of waste every year – enough to fill a line of tractor-trailers spanning all the way from Seattle to Boston. According to one study conducted by the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, visitors to Boulder, Colorado’s Open Space, and Mountain Parks land leave behind approximately 60,000 pounds of waste each year.

Introducing the BearSaver Dog Waste Enclosure

Unfortunately, leaving behind dog waste is not just unattractive to visitors, but it poses potential health risks as well. Fortunately, BearSaver has an answer for those communities that are looking to better address this concern. With the BearSaver Dog Waste Receptacle , this waste can be easily collected for proper disposal. With its 40 gallon capacity, the ADA-compliant enclosure features a small chute that is perfectly suited for collecting dog waste.

Taking a Closer Look

As part of the CE Series, the BearSaver Dog Waste Receptacle is also well-suited for other applications such as collecting small recyclable items or other small waste items, such as coffee cups. Whether it is used for general waste or for dog waste, the animal-resistant enclosure is constructed from heavy-duty material that is designed to be used in a wide range of outdoor settings. In addition to being resistant to harsh environmental conditions, the enclosure is resistant to vandalism as well as curious or hungry animals. It should be noted, however, that it is advisable to opt for a cold galvanizing coating under the powder coat if the enclosure is to be used in marine environments or where corrosive elements, such as salted sidewalks, are present.

Ease of Use

Designed with ease of use in mind, the BearSaver Dog Waste Enclosure features an animal-proof top-loading chute door along with a separate service door, which allows you to remove the contents of the container without needing to lift them up and out the top of the receptacle. Not only does this prevent back strain, but it also reduces the chances of spilling the contents. Meanwhile, the ADA-compliant pull-down chute makes the enclosure operable even with a closed fist.

Built to Last

In addition to being made from corrosion-resistant steel, the BearSaver Dog Waste Receptacle features heavy-duty stainless steel piano hinges. All handles, striker plates, and other hardware are also coated with zinc for additional corrosion resistance. While custom colors are available, standard colors for this enclosure include black, forest brown, olive green, fir green and sky blue. The unit itself weighs 181 pounds and has an assembled width of 22 inches, a height of 53 inches and a length of 26 inches. The enclosure comes backed by a one-year warranty.
