Our Story
For over 25 years, our expertise in steel fabrication, paired with the guidance of wildlife biologists has allowed us to create bear-resistant containers that keep wildlife and ecosystems safe. We don’t just build containers; we build solutions. Working alongside leading wildlife biologists, we’ve developed a patented latch system specifically designed to keep bears and other wildlife out. These aren’t just any garbage bins, they’re engineered to withstand the intelligence, strength, and persistence of nature’s most powerful scavengers.
From the start, we’ve done more than just build enclosures, we studied bear anatomy and behavior to shape our first designs, and that research continues to guide us today. Our decision to develop a line of bear-resistant products was a natural outgrowth from our very own staff members. We are avid campers and outdoor enthusiasts, who spend much of our leisure time in the Sierras camping and hiking. We are very aware of and concerned about the growing problem of bears foraging for human food and the increasingly frequent unpleasant consequences. When bears become accustomed to consuming human food, dangerous interactions between bears and people are often the result. This leads bears to be euthanized due to habituation.

BearSaver products meet all the specific IGBC criteria. The protocol for testing was developed through a cooperative effort among IGBC, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, the US Forest Service, the Living with Wildlife Foundation, and the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center.
Recycle Across America
BearSaver is pleased to have partnered with Recycle Across America (RAA) a 501(c)(3) nonprofit consumer protection organization on a mission to fix the broken recycling system. RAA developed and implemented the first and only society-wide standardized labels for recycling, compost, and trash bins in U.S. History and is a proven solution that reduces confusion, contamination, and costs.
